Privacy Policy

The short version
We do not sell your information, and we never have. This website does not ask you for anything: there is no account to create, no form to fill in and no mailing list to join. If you want food, the order itself happens in our ordering app, which is run for us by Toast. What follows is the long version of that, written plainly.
Who we are
Papa T’s cooks Philly cheesesteaks and hand-breaded tenders for pickup and delivery on the Treasure Coast. We are a family business, not a franchise. This policy covers papatsrestaurant.com and every Papa T’s kitchen:

What this website collects
Nothing you type, because there is nothing here to type into. There are no contact forms, no comments, no accounts and no waitlist. What is collected happens automatically, the way it does on any website:
- Server records. Our web host keeps a standard log of requests: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and your browser and device type. These are used to keep the site running and secure, and to investigate problems.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, so we know what to write more of. It tells us about traffic, not about people: we cannot see your name, and we do not try to work out who you are.
- Menu photos. The dish photos on our menu are served from Toast, our point-of-sale provider. Loading a page with photos on it means your browser asks Toast’s servers for those images, and your IP address is visible to them in the process. This is how images work on the web generally, but it is worth stating.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to tell a returning visit from a new one. You can block or delete these in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out add-on, and the site will work exactly as it did before.
When you place an order
Every “Order” button on this site takes you off it. Ordering happens in our ordering app, built by AppFront and running on Toast, our point-of-sale provider. To cook your food and get it to you, they collect what you would expect: your name, phone number, delivery address, your order, and your payment details.
Your card details never touch this website, and we never see or store your full card number. Payment is handled entirely by Toast and their payment processor. We see the order, the name, the phone number and the address, because we need all four to cook and deliver.
Toast handles that information under their own privacy policy, and we would encourage you to read it, because from the moment you tap “Order” it governs as much as this one does.
If you order through DoorDash or Uber Eats
You are their customer at that point, not ours, and their privacy policies apply — DoorDash’s and Uber Eats’. They pass us what we need to make the food and hand it over. We do not receive your payment details from either of them, and what they keep about you is between you and them.
If you call us
We take your name, your phone number and, for delivery, your address. We use them to cook your order and bring it to you. We do not add you to a marketing list off the back of a phone call.
Who we share information with
Only the companies that help us run the business, and only so far as they need it to do their job: Toast and AppFront for ordering and payment, our web host, Google for analytics, and the delivery apps when you order through them. Our own drivers see your name, address and phone number so they can find you.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not trade or rent it. We do not share it for anyone else’s advertising. The only other circumstance in which we would hand anything over is if the law required it of us.
Social media
We are on Instagram, and nowhere else. Anyone claiming to be Papa T’s on another network is not us. Following, liking or messaging us there is governed by Instagram’s privacy policy, not this one. We do not embed Instagram on this website, so simply reading these pages tells them nothing about you.
How long we keep things
Order records are kept as long as we need them for accounting and tax, which in practice means a few years. Server logs are kept for a short period and then cycle out. Analytics data is held on Google’s standard retention schedule and is not tied to a name.
Your choices
You can browse this site without telling us who you are, because there is nothing here that asks. You can turn off analytics with the opt-out linked above, or block cookies in your browser. And you can call or write to us at the address below to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it — we will do that wherever we are not required to keep it for tax or accounting.
Children
This is a cheesesteak shop, not a service aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us something they should not have, call us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how any of this works, we will change this page and move the date at the top. There is no version of this policy where we quietly start selling your information.
